This week, we’ll kick off a series of story teasers to get an idea of what the Fun Size Anthology will have in store! First up, I’m stoked to announce, is a story inspired by Patrick J. O’Brian‘s West Baden Murders Series. Check out the teaser below, then learn a little more about the series below that!
Learn more about the series:
What begins as a dream job for Paul Clouse soon turns into a nightmare when his work at the West Baden Springs Hotel is marred by murder and mayhem. He becomes the focus of a murder investigation, and the luxury hotel, being renovated by the company that employs him, is targeted by people who seek to own the grounds at any cost.
Over the years, the motives for the murders become clearer, and those closest to the hotel learn of a dark time in the hotel’s history when the rich and powerful set events into motion that benefited only them. Lives are lost in the struggle to keep the hotel from falling into the wrong hands, often at the hands of a person dressed in a dark cloak, assuming the appearance of the grim reaper, using a scythe on innocent victims.
The West Baden Murders Series chronicles these events, spanning a decade of the weathered hotel being restored and reopened, seemingly never at peace. When the characters think they know the answers, the past rears its ugly head, bringing them additional turmoil and death. Only when they face a threat that endangers the world far beyond their small Indiana town do the survivors begin to understand the danger entrenched beneath them for a century.
The second teaser this week is a prequel story to the as-yet-unreleased Nihryst series by Cait Marie. Learn more about the release date for the first book and the rest of the series underneath the teaser.
